I'm moving to Gervais this weekend and the St. Lois ponds are right nearby. Does anyone fish there, if so what fish are available? I fished there once when I was a kid, but don't remember anything about them. I was thinking it might be a good place to kill time if I'm sitting around my new home and I'm bored. Thanks in advance for the info.

I fished St. Louis Ponds some years ago for bream (bluegills). Had a fun time... just worm and bobber stuff. I think they're also stocked with trout, have some bullheads, etc. Fun, easy fishing, and great for kids. There a bunch o' ponds, and you can walk from one to the other and try out different ponds. Plus, plenty of easy places to cast from, sit back, eat a sandwich, and watch your bobber wiggle. Have fun.

i fished there last summer a few times. nothing really to brag about. some good bass, nothin major. usually we would just go, put out a bober, relax and get away from everything. explore, theres some pretty nice ponds. good luck.

Thanks guys. Sounds like just the kind of thing I was lookin' for. Close to home, I can get in my fishing fix in between "real" trips. I love just "watching the bobber wiggle" sometimes.

The pond to the south of the parking lot often floods over in the spring, into the grass. Try that area in the spring with a flyrod and an olive green wooly bugger for bass chasing the minnows in the grass. :smash: Go further back to the south of the parking lot and there are some interesting ponds that don't get as much pressure that hold greenear sunfish. Looks like a smallmouth bass with irridescent blue stripes. They can be near suicidally aggressive in attacking your hook.
