im probably going to be looking for a couple new low profile reels here shortly. i pretty much have blown up two curados that each made it through one steelhead season a piece and then just stayed together long enough for the last tournament of the fall. anyway, was thinking about the chronarch? do they still make the plain one or are they all now the B model that BPS has? if they quit making the old one, anyone have a lead so some closeouts? lets hear some opinions <//><

i beleive that the curados are a good reel but all of mine have a serious backreeling issue. pull on a fish let go of the reel handle and poof, no anti reverse and a mess, all three i own do it and i have had all three serviced atleast once.also have gone through a couple sets of drag washers. good reel just not but for fishing 150 days a year i guess

Not sure what pound test you use on them but according to the guys at Shimano those reels are disigned for 12 to 14 lb line. I also have had those reels for several years and have used them a lot and with routine grease and oil are still doing well(especially the drag washer). You can ship them to shimano (call first if you want) and they will completly go through them for a nominal fee. (OH...new Chronarchs are awesome...they're a shiny black look too)
