Planning on picking up a Navman 2100 fuel flow meter and wanted to see what people think of this item? Seen it on the web for ~150 shipped. From the posts I've found on ifish it's a solid item and would fit the bill for my 20' NR SJ.

Was pondering a visit to the boat show to see if anyone had this offed at a special 'boat show' price.

Appreciate any feedback.

StinkyH I am going to the show tomorrow to see if anyone has any and if so I will pick one up, Boaters world at Jantzen Beach has them for 149.00 I think, if there is nothing cheaper at the show I'll get mine there. Let ya know when I get back

I recently purchased and installed myself this flowmeter. It probably took me 2 hours to install. I think it is great since my fuel gauge was so inaccurate and I only have one tank. It tells instant consumption, gallons left in tank, and gallons used instantly. My installation was on a inboard V-6

Do a search for this on the Salty Dog forum - lots of discussion regarding this unit.

Didnt see any at the boat show and Rodgers Marine said they are going to discontinue them from their product line because of too many problems?. Nonetheless I will pick one up from Boaters World.

I've had one for years now - no problems. After calibration it is generally within a gallon accuracy at any level (20 to 100).

Nothing but good feedback on ifish that I've read. Did they advise of the replacement?

Mine works great while on the main motor, but my kicker is so fuel stingy that the Navman doesn't measure fuel used when slow trolling the kicker. I believe it needs more than .6gph of flow to measure.

It works as designed, so I'm please with it!

Rodgers quit selling them years ago because they switched to Floscan. Ever since they've always bad mouthed the Navman units but I can't find anyone that has had a problem that was a manufacture defect. Rodgers deals a lot with large fuel flow systems and not as much with us trailer boaters so perhaps that is the issue? Or perhaps it's because they can make $100 on a Floscan or $25 on a Navman? That's what I'd guess is the real reason.

I bet there are close to 40 Salty Dogs using these units and I had one on my Trophy for over 5 years without fail. I've had one on my dory now for 2 years without fail.

Buy it, you'll like it.

As a matter of fact they did mention Flow Scan but I didnt even ask if they sold them because I'm not in the market for one, they might be made of higher quality materals but as far as working quality is there a difference? I'll go with Navman.

My wife got me one for xmas she did not know about  he
he, just installed it last week. Very easy install.Only down
side is when I turn the power on the unit comes on.I wanted it to come on with the key instead. Have not had a chanch to use it yet, but have heard nothing but great things from the salty dog board. And you cant beat the price$149.99 at
Janzen Beach Boatersworld. Not sure if they were still available for that price anymore. I think they were having a sale.

They work great after fine tuning. If you don't want it on all the time hook it thru a switch(Idid)...

Still got em at that price but you will have to wait for them to get some more in, seems I got the last one  The salesman said that Navman dropped the price on these (2100's) because they are replacing it with a "new improved" version but had no other info, so who knows.
