Sitting around today and checking on IFISH and noticed the river is clearing and the temperature is going up to almost the same conditions as last spring when fishing was awesome. Sooo as soon as I get all the Christmas stuff from away from the boat I may have to try and catch a January smallie in the Willamette. I've done it before and it would be fun to do it again. Does anybody else get this urge or are most of us still getting that steelhead fix. Tight Lines.

Wannabe...The ides of March will bring the smallie bite to the John Day. Last year I cot both a 17" smallie and a 23" steelie from the same hole on the same day with the same lure. Only seventy days to go.

Well I got my fix today to. Broke in my new lami bobber rod. Was one for three plus landed a nice native cut. Did hook one on a glow bug and two on the bobber and jig. Was great to be out other than fighting black ice all the way to the summit. The fish I got were a gift as my reaction time was awfull to say the least. Now I'm ready for those brown bass.
