What a strange December. There sure was a lack of steelhead, but at least the chinook made up for it. Bright chromers right on up until Christmas.

It was a good thing all the chinook were around because they saved the day (month)

We even caught some chinook in places I've never caught December chinook before.

Trips were booked for Christmas presents, a payout for a football bet, several father and son trips as well as out of town guests. We all had outstanding trips with everyone going home with fish.

It was starting to look like this was going to be the first December that we hadn't caught a steelhead but then on the last day we hit pay dirt.

On the 31st, with pelting sideways rain that sent most of the boats on the road, we ended up catching and releasing one high finner and bonked this limit of hatchery brats by lunch.

Some good feedback

David,

We had such a good time fishing with you Monday, 12-20-2004. You were generous with time, resources and humor. I can honestly say that my "dads" had the trip they both wanted. Thise trip would be one we would always remember, one which our holiday wishes were all met. That is pure truth! For us, you WERE Salmon Santa!

I look forward to fishing with you this spring, now it's time to get my wife into a nice fish just like you provided for us Monday. You are indeed a super guide. Everything a person wants and hopes for. I cannot stress enough just how happy we are with the time we spent in your care, life is good, you contributed greatly to our joy, you sir are a gentleman, a mentor, a teacher. Is there a better calling? I think not!

Looking forward to our next trip,

Rob
