Is Brownlee fishable from a float tube in the spring? Can you get to productive areas?
Yes it is! I fished Brownlee for many years from my tube. If you go to the upper end near Huntington, there is a road that parallels the lake for many miles. You follow it down towards the Graveyard (about 8 miles down the lake I believe. There is a boat launch at a place called the cottonwoods. There is good bass and bluegill fishing near there. Any of the little coves you pass between Spring Boat launch and the Graveyard will be stacked with Crappie. It is important to note that if the lake is dropping you will need to fish the bigger rock formations and the bigger coves.
From the Idaho side there are miles of access. That is where I'm the most familiar. Rock Creek is where I used to fish the most. There is good access all along the lower lake near Woodhead Park, which is a really good place to camp.

You can also fish from a float tube at hewlett park in Richland.
