Mercruiser Trim Adjustment

I have a 1979 Beachcraft with a 228 Mercruiser sterndrive. My problem is that it all of a sudden quit power tilting up high enough when you want to trailor. There is a s hook that you can hook and trim down until tight. Now though I cannot tilt it up high enough to hook this up. Was wondering if there was an adjustment that you can make to raise or lower how high up or down it will trim. The pump has plenty of fluid. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Pushing the top two buttons simultaniously should bring the outdrive up as far as it will go. There is a trim limit switch that affects the operation of the center button only.

Hey boat doc thanks for the reply. I know that pushing to top two buttons on my boat should raise the lower unit to the full up position. For some reason or another though it seems to be stopping 1/2" short or so. Can you think of anything that might be causing this?
