Went to the River both Saturday and Sunday. The Smallies were biting good on plastics. Only two other boats all morning. Fish went to 16 & 1/2 inches.

Both days were overcast. Water surface temp 58 degrees. Current mild.

Returned today for short 2 hour trip. Smallies were not biting like over the weekend. Wonder if it was because last couple of days have been sunny with few if no clouds? Or is full moon allowing them to feed at night? Water temp the same. Current the same.

Yeah, same thing here. I fished a slough near Salem on Monday evening and put a hurting on lots of LARGE smallies. The biggest one was over 18 inches and a little over 4 pounds. None smaller than 16 inches. Had so much fun that I thought I would try it again Tuesday evening. Nothing. Fished the same spot and nothing. Tuesday was a lot clearer than Monday and the water temp felt significantly colder. Any thoughts?

Hey Big Smizz, I've been out there a few times this past couple weeks in salem, also. Had some good luck around the area....launching from under the bridge there. What types of areas are ya fishing? We caught a few fairly nice ones running almost 3 lbs, but no 4's yet. Got any suggestions, baits, colors?...We were running cranks and small drop-shotted plastics. Any tips would be thankful. Perfect time to be out there, falllllll! email me if you need to also...
