I am glad that you are pleased to see my post . I have been reading a lot of flack in the other forums . It is surprizing how many people can get so upset about BASS FISHING .

I've noticed through the years that bass fishermen are very willing to share information. They will tell you where to go, what time of day to show up, what equipment to use, which techniques work best, and anything else you might need to know. On the other hand, some anglers that fish for other species are extremely secretive. Some of them act like they are scared to death that you might stumble across "their" secret hole and catch the last fish out of it.
It seems to me that at least half the fun of fishing is in the sharing. If you lose half the fun, then what good is sport fishing to us? Guess I just don't get it.

"He is the better fisherman who will share his bait and knowledge with the novice. We are commonly too eager - too eager for fishing - for the most part. And being over-eager we are prone to be impatient of another fisherman or yet to eye him sourly. Then we should take the saving second thought, and smile, and give him greeting. And whether he meets the test and proves himself a fisherman and comrade, or fails of this, why, that is his concern."

I would somewhat agree with what you said but i would make an exception on some rivers. Some rivers dont get a large run of salmon or steelhead, and if somewhat starts talking about how hot it is, the river will be overfished, and there will be either no fish for you to catch, or no room for you to fish. One example of this is the East Fork of the Lewis. I walk down to a fishing hole and the bank is lined with fisherman, and it really is a small river and doesnt get as big of a run as the North Fork or other local rivers. Thanks for the reminder Shalom, unfortunatley i dont get that channel. :depressed:
