Bruce, try smith and bybee lakes in portland off of MLK. Tons of trees and cover around the lake to pitch at. The only bad thing is there is lots of carp in there. Electric motors only if you have a boat. Im not sure that this time of year is the best for pitchin jigs into brush, IMOP the fish will be active in searching for food and not sticking tight to cover. Although you should be able to pick up a few fish. I hope this helps.

If you don't mind driving to the coastal lakes I would recommend Takenitch or Tenmile and target isolated wood. Getting to be the time of year for that. Jigs or large tubes pitched quietly around can be awesome. Maybe even a dock or two.

Not realy its more of a clearing that goes down to the water (bybee) I am not sure about smith. You would not be able to use a trailer there but if you have a small enough boat you could just slide it down to the water. I have a small 12' sea nymph and racks on my truck so I just unload and slide it down the bank into the water. Good luck where ever you go!!

Spring is the best time to pitch jigs and worms
the dirtier the water the better. in clear water wait til the sun makes shadows and pitch the shade.....DJ

If you have a washington license go to lacamas lake run up the inlet creek on the west end and pitch or flip to the stickups. Best way to fish that area.
