I'm taking two of my girls to fish Cullaby lake over by Gearhart this weekend. What are your favorite baits, techniques this time of year and where to you usually find the fish holding (way back in the thick by the bank, in the middle or edge of the pads, ????) Thanks!

Depends on the weather for me. If its cloudy with a touch of wind I would go topwater. Sunny and calm I would fish a bit deeper with crankbaits or plastic worms. with the weather cooling a bit these fish should be moving around looking for food. In my opinion the key is to cover a lot of water until you find a pattern of were the fish are. Spinnerbaits in the shallower areas with a willow leaf blades if the water is clear to stained and big colorado blades if the water is murky. Plastic jerk baits and floating worms also produce good about now.
