Hi!
I believe NF closes sometime like the end of October or November.
That's a drag because I like to fish there too.
It's not bad when it's not crowded. It's horrible when it is. It's to narrow when the fisherman, pleasure boaters, wake boarders, water skiers, jet skiers all get together on a nice warm summer Saturday!! I've seen the ramp line all the way up to and out of the entrance before.
The reason you limited out so fast  is because they stocked it last week with about 12,000 trout. At least that's what the ODFW stocking schedule says! Usually it's about a third of that.
I've spent many a day there with just a couple to show for it, but it still is a good place!

Wanna cheat?
Fish powerbait 5-15 foot under a small bobber with real light line (2 - 5 lb) down by the logs after they stock. Just be ready to keep everything you catch because they take it deep. Don't use this up at the top of the lake because you will kill smolts that take it too deep.
