Spending the weekend at LaPage. Any reports for that area? Looking for anything that bites, especially Smallies and cats. I have heard that boats can only go up to the upper park because the water becomes too shallow. Is this correct? Where is the best place for fish and what bait this time of year? Thanks in advance.

When I fished the upper parts of the river a few years back, usually the Clano to Cottonwood drift, we hammered the smallmouths on rubber tube jigs, the duzzit style. Crawdad and pumpkin seed like colors seemed to be the most productive, like 80-100 fish a day, with a little crawdad smelly jelly on them. Fished at the mouth a few times and had pretty good luck on the bass there as well. I also threw some brown bunny leeches and some poppers on a fly rod and had a pretty good time of it. I just realized this post wont do you any good if you're already up there but maybe you can use it on your next trip. Hope you got into em'.

Was there last weekend. The kids got two cat right off the dock,6#,4#. Another guy fished between the dock and shore and got 5 or 6 nice bass using dark worms on jigg heads. We went to the narrows and it wasn't that bad,Stay to the out side of the bends and when you hit the power lines slow down, thing change fast.In the morning you can see samon and stealhead rolling off camp. Wedidn't fish for them but one guy did good be for the nets went up.You'll have a good time. Let me now how you do
