Because of a tip I got on here I slayed the perch at Hagg Lake on Saturday. I just have one question.
Are there any perch in there bigger than 7 inches?!. I fished bobber and jigs, Bobber and worms, Jigs without a bobber and I even trolled wedding rings with a strip of perch.
I could not find any good sized perch. I did however get into some nice bluegill.

ONE worm!

Hagg Lake is full of Perch and may be choaking out other species by consuming the top end of the food supply.

I've found large perch on or near the bottom. Look for the structure or old creek beds out in the middle portions of the pool, 40 to 50 feet, and anchor or wind drift over these areas. You might need ONE worm to catch your first perch. 1/4 oz. jigs to get down with Perch meat, touch down then reel up 4 to 6 feet, bite will be light give them a chance to take it. We've gotten limits of trout with method and they're usually carry-over fish. Tell me if you find any Crappie.
