Flies-unbelievable eggs white/red

I started fishing at around 7 and ended at noon, just in time to get back to work. I wasn't really counting, but I think 6-7 steelies got to the bank, another 6-7 broke me off. Almost every fish was a hatchery, the only native was small. I hooked a big fish before I left the river, the fish made a mad dash downriver and it was either break the fish off or get wet landing her...i chose to brek her off. I am almost positive that it was a native because I have never had a hatchery fish take that much line that fast.

i swung flies early and then switched to nymphs and then finally to the unbelievable egg pattern...once I switched it was one after another.

This one was the first of the day, I got pics of 3 of the fish then the camera went dead. This fish was a skinny little runt.

This fish fought really hard, too bad you cant see the egg, it was buried in the corner of her mouth.

OK, I'll admit that I don't know how to tell the difference between a summer and a winter...maybe you guys should post how we can tell the difference.

In cali I only really fished for winters...I dont thinkn I have ever caught a summer until recently!(apparently)

After watching your vids I am planning on doing my own this winter...I have been too afraid to take my camera with me in the past...I tend to get a little retarded when I hook a steely...

I just wish more people posted pictures and stories, although I understand why people wouldn't want to get flamed or defend themselves all the time.

Ya see CM the point is that we don't catch as many fish as you so we don't have very many pics to post.

Everybody on this board is total ribbing you about your posts. I'm thrilled for you and only wish that I could break away more often to get on the river. Congrats on the fish and keep the pics coming. Since I can't get out much these days at least I get to enjoy seeing what a steelie looks like.

Merry Christmas!
