I am sure there will be many more chinooks caught until most rivers close on Dec 31. Everyone is always in a hurry to start getting steelhead and there are always many chinooks still around for a few more weeks. To say this fall was awesome would be an understatement.
The fall started off red hot and it never really slowed down. We had a day in the last week that we landed 16 chinooks still. I fished 5 different rivers this fall and all were great. For the season my boat ave. landing 11 fish a day, and I was able to make it through the fall chinook season without getting skunked. In fact I only had one day all season that we didn't get a fish for everyone in the boat. I ended this fall on a streak of not getting skunked for 122 straight fall chinook trips (back to Sept of '03) and have 187 straight trips on one of the rivers I fish (Back to Oct 2000). Can't wait to see if I can add more days to those streaks next year.
