FEAR NO FISH!

Sun was out at Scootney today. I
caught 57 perch up to 13 inches long
today. Also bagged a 18 and 22 inch
walleye. I caught all but 4 on a
swedish pimple with a perch eye. I
caught four with a Northland rattle
spoon using perch belly. I got the two
walleyes with it also. First time I
have used a Northland spoon. The black
and silver model. Most of the perch
were puking up small minnows. The same
size as the swedish pimple. People ask
me why I would change from steelies to
perch. I point to my belly and say
"They taste better!"

Yellow perch are one of the best eating freshwater fish there are. Lots of fun to catch on light gear too. Sounds like you had a blast FNF.

Sounds like an AWESOME day. I haven't been perch fishing since I was a kid, and even then, it was mostly through ice. Let me know if you ever want some help with them tasty yellows.

New to posting here at Ifish. Long time Eastern Washington fisherman/hunter. Live in Monroe, WA now but still have family in E WA. Any word on how perch fishing is at Soda or Long Lake in the Potholes? This time of year used to fish from the bank with whitefish fly and eyeball and nail'em. Glad to be part of the Ifish community.
Thanks

Soda Lake will be my next destination in my effort to regulate the perch population. I've caught a 7 pound walleye pulling a hot lips express there one early evening. I have to hit O'sullivan before they post the 25 perch limit in next years laws.

IC Fish,
I am still taking perch from
Scootney. I caught a half a bucket
today. I see dead fish! Thank god for
American Angler electric knives. Good
luck up in the potholes. Dress warm.

FNF, How did your trip to Soda Lake go? I may be heading over that way to check out the perch and do a little pheasant hunting over Xmas
