Hi Sweepy:
I would give a big thumbs up for Vernonia lake, before we get the BIG COLD SNAP!. Try the north shore. and Dorman Pond at the confluence of Hiway 6 and 8, just out of gales creek. lots of fish in there. Letus know how you do!

Hey deefly:
How exactly would you go about getting there from astoria? And what would be the best bait to use?

Hey Verysweepy You can head east on highway 30 toward Portland, you'll see road signs to Vernonia all long there. As for Dorman pond you need to get over to highway 26 to get to Highway 6. I was by there a few weeks back, A LOT OF WEEDS is all I can say. Good luck, lets us know how ya do.

Cullaby lake used have a good sized population of perch. They were very aggressive too. haven't fished it for a number of years. Sunset Lake used to be good for bass and perch. I have a 7lb bass hanging on my wall that came out of Sunset in the early spring.
