Let my friend off at the Dock at the boat ramp C to run and get something. Thought I would make a few casts with my bomber model 2A. Hooked a small large mouth right off. Second cast hooked a big fish. It started coming up but then quikly turned and took line until snap. After the turn I could not turn its head or get controll. I was only using 8 pound line (my first mistake).

I did not actually see the fish so I do not know what is was but I can always dream that it was a bass. What ever it was it was strong. images/icons/wink.gif

I hung my head down and had a moment of silence for the crank bait that had been so dependable for me in the past.

Not bad I think the key is finding good offshore structure in about 15 ft of water. That dock has a ditch in a transition between 25cft and 10 ft right next to it. That is where I had some action. I tried fishing the creek beds in the deeper water but I do not think I was deep enough. Good luck.

i fished hagg 2 times in the past week trolling for perch with small plugs and caught 4 smallmouths both times. all of the smallmouths were 2-3 pounds and very lightly colored. I also lost a couple more bass which were bigger, but never got a look at them. marked many BIG FISH on the depth finder but couldnt get them to bite. there actively feeding on perch images/icons/rolleyes.gif
