TOPWATER!!!!!!

For those of you who have never tried Storms Rattlen' Chug-bug, I seriously recommend it. It is by far my favorite topwater lure.

Another good choice for topwater around pads is the softplastic weedless grass frog, although I have not been able to find any of the kind I use here in Oregon.

If anyone has a other favorites I would love to hear about them!!

Johnson silver minnow spoons!!! Yes Johnson spoons have got to be my fav. Except for a good buzzbait bite, or a good popper bite, or a good spook bite. Yeah, spook bites are probably right up there with a spoon.

favorite of all time, scum from! any frog bite is as much fun as you can have with clothes on. next is a spooke bite, smallie exploding on a spook is very fun also. my biggest smallies came from a spook, and my biggest largemouth are from scum frogs. top water bites are the best fishing to be had IMHO

+1 for the topwater bites, I get excited and set the hook too soon though, one time it took me 6 times to hook a bass that hit my popper every new cast...

I love and ole fashioned spoon and a rind when I'm fishing weeds and pads on unpressured ponds. Nothing like a 4 pounder jumping out of weeds and eating the spoon. My dad has some old lure that a silverminnow with a spinner on front and the action is amazing with porkrind on it.

The frog gets my vote for most fun. In SD we throw them on the mats and pull/pop them until the water explodes.

My funnest day on ANY lake was Frog Fishing the Mats down in Clear Lake CA!!! EPIC EPIC EPIC!!! Those fish do some crazy things trying to find them lil' froggies!!

Biggest Smallmouth has came from a Zara Puppy below Tri-Cities. I had to throw them shorts away if ya know what i mean!!
