Anyone want to share a spot or two where one can fish at night for bullheads (the catfish kind) or catfish. I have heard of the Gilbert Boat Ramp on Sauvie's Island. Does that get a party crowd or is it pretty tame for kids. Preferably a spot where we do not have to worry about eating them because of contamination by pollutants.

If you have a boat, the lower John Day River is the place to be. Big Channel Cats

Kress lake in kalama has some awesome channel cat fishing. For the last couple year's they planted 14 inch channels here. We decided to start night fishing it last year. First night we caught a 7 pound channel, every time we went up there after that we would catch about 5 cat's per person per night averaging 3 pounds. The secret is in the bait and where you fish. Don't fish at the main entry area, walk around the lake and hit one of the more isolated holes. The way we usually rigged up would be with a strip of cut bait(mabey some fresh bluegill) right above a buncha words, and a slider weight above a swivel a couple feet up the line so the cat wont feel the weight. You can purchase these nice little glow in the dark rod tip things at GI joes or walmart that indicate strikes nicely. Good luck and update us on how it was
