So what is going on with the Bass Tourney and who all is fishing? The thread on it just kind of died.

I'm in, and I might have some goodies to bring along too for those attending, and maybe something for the "winner".
Again I'll probably be a NON-BOATER needing pairing.
I'd like to see the big 351 in action images/icons/cool.gif

Those that have fished this lake,
would you share some pre-trip info?
What, where, etc.
What is the structure that we will be fishing? Baitfish? What is the limit, how big is big, any size limits, and more if you have it.
Where do we camp, where do we meet, what time?

Ok, I'll be there. I'll be a boater.
As far as tackle tips for this lake, Here they are.
This lake has a ton of Dollar pads, that form a kind of "mat" around most of the lake. To fish in these you need weedless topwaters (snag free frogs, mice, or Johnson silver minnow spoons with a pork rind). These usually work best early morning.
There is also a ton of wood structure. Jigs and tubes fish well in that stuff as well as plastic worms.
You definitly want heavy line. 12 lb. minimum. I personally fish a flipping stick with 15-20lb. test. The water is colored like tea. It is clear but stained brown. So heavy line is no prob. The fish can be big (My biggest is over 8lbs)
Another option are spinnerbaits and buzzbaits along the pad edges. As a rule with plastics---big and black. I'll also throw quite a few 6" brushogs, which is quite a chunk of plastic.
Well, now you have all my secrets and will probably kick my butt in the tourney. images/icons/wink.gif

If no one else wants to. I'll take charge. I have not fished Cullaby in years but setting up the logistics can't be that tough.
I'll post a sign up sheet thread. All who want to go please sign up and indicate boater or non boater.
I'll find out about camping near by and post it.
