I love the fall. It's a time of great variety, in terms of location for fishing fall chinook.

You can chase these wonderfull fish from out on the ocean right on up through the rivers.

In the ocean and bays it's herring. I love rolling cut plug herring. It's so exciting to see that rod pull, pull, pull and pull some more as I say "Wait, wait, wait!!" .When the rod is down flat and we know the fish has it burried, it's FISH ON!

Then there's pulling spinners in the upper bays and tidewater. Salmon will just slam a spinner, which is exciting, but more often than not they take it while running at the boat. This produces a "slack line bite".

Your trolling along and all of a sudden you loose the feel of your throbing blade. SET THE HOOK! And almost out of no-where you have a fish on!

Tidewater also lends it's self to Kwikfish. The violent strike on a Kwikfish is hard to forget. The fish are taking it like a herring though so again it's "Wait, wait, wait..."

Then we get some rain.

When enough rain comes there are fishing moving up the rivers. We follow them right up, and although they run, they can't hide.

Eggs backbounced or hung under a bobber get more than their share of fish as do the Kwikfish. River fishing is my favorite of all.

I sure like catching chinook all the different ways in all the different places :smash:
