I just purchased a new boat and while I'd probably just take the powerwasher to it, my wife is uncomfy with the entrained fish guts of others and suggested a detail. Any recommendations on a south Portland area detailer who's familiar with boats? Specifically, someone affordable who can do a buff job on the aluminum and maybe a little paint touch up in addition to cleanup? Thanks

PM me if its aluminum and you you would like to buff it yourself. I just did mine and it looks like chrome, it cost about $10 in polish and took about a day. I have had three people knock on my door and ask what I used. It turned out great.

I ended up taking it to Les' A-1 on McLaughlin. For $250, they did a fine job (although if my wife had not insisted, I think could have done it myself).
With the fresh buff I considered SharkHide, but I can't tell from their website if it works on "older" aluminum as well, I know some who've put it on their new boats.

250 bones and they make your boat all shiny all over?
Hmmm... I may have to look into that. I've had my boat moored in the Columbia. It has actually stained the aluminum.
