Courtesy of low flows I have a few dings in my ClacaCraft I'd like to fix up before we hit the high volume flows. Since I've got a white hull I'd like it to match but that is only secondary to "the best epoxy to use." Since this is a glass boat it should be a flexible epoxy. Some I've seen are only good to 100 degrees F and I'd like something better than that.

I searched iFish and found a couple suggestions but no real recommendations which is what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Check out the "West System", I've used the system on wood & glass hulls ... works great. Type West System into your search browser and it will give you quite a story. I buy it at West Marine @ delta park (Portland)

I too had some dings in my glass boat from low water. When I restored it this spring used marine-tex in white it looks great and has taken a beating this summer and so far is holding up great. Good Luck

Hi Hunter,

Isn't the West Marine product geared more for a non-flexible hull like sail boats? It's hard to tell from their web page just exactly what to use. I've heard this stuff is good though.

Thanks

Walker,

Where did you pick it up? If you can't post a URL (if they're not an advertiser) please PM me. I like the fact that it's already white.

Thanks

I completely did a '59 24' Owens (wood hull) insde and out, the west system worked great, no cracks. To make it solid you use fiber glass mesh, also you can use a filler and it is white. I really like the stuff, but it is spendy, I picked up enough to do the stringer in my boat ... $225. I'm also using the W/S for laminating the stringers, then glassing them to the bottom.
