If you are having problems with your axles eating bearings, you might want to inspect your spindles. It seems EZ Loader or the manufactures of the spindles has failed to allow enough clean machined clearance for the seals. After the spindles are welded to the backing plate base, the slage was not cleared off and not allowing a smooth seat for the seals to ride on. My seals were riding on welding slage. This was causing water to penentrate the bearings.
Out of frustration, I decided that inspecting the bearings and entire assembly. This was the only way to acheive peice of mind. I was in total disbelief when I recognized the problem. I have spent alot of money on bearings and an axle. I believe that this might have been an oversight on quality control. This doesn't surprize me any, just frustrating. I just can't believe the guys that have been replacing my bearings once a year didn't catch this problem.
I was able to remove most of the slage with a small chisel. I them dressed up the area with some emery cloth. The seals are riding on a smooth defect free surface now.
