I bought the boat used, and didn't get a book with it to tell me what oil filter to use. I thought it was a Volvo, but the 3 liter Volvo oil filter don't fit, the hole in the center of the filter is to small. The filter that came off of it was a quicksilver 14957. The marine stores are closed around here today, and I get tired of paying "marine" prices for off the shelf auto parts in a different box. Any help would be appreciated.

Answered my own question. It's not a Volvo, like I was told, the big GM cast in the side of the block along with hocho in mexico should have been a clue  Anyway, I couldn't find a 3.0L engine made by GM in 94, so I resorted to picking up a couple that I thought would work. Turns out it's a PL20049 for a V-8 Chevrolet. $4.99 at a local store, auto parts section.
The reason I got going on this is last time I bought a filter for my Nissan 15 hp kicker, it was $15.99 from a "marine/RV dealer. I bought a Fram yesterday that fit it perfectly and only paid $5.49.
