I got up at O-GOD-hunnerd this AM, coffee in hand on the bank of the upper willamette. WHAT!!!! ???? Only 1 other car here? Whats going on? where are all the flosers and "dentists" at?.. Ohhh well,, its raining and there is ball games on today.
Well anyway, I was fishing a new rod I built last weekend and was feeling rather confident as it is matched perfectly to my custom shooting line system I use. Fished a while,, tied on a purple eggsicking leech and moved up river and next cast,, BOOM there goes the reel screaming! 8 lbs of summer steelie cartwheeling all over the place. :bigshock: A couple minutes later the fish was brought to hand and let swim away. :angel: It was a great morning! This was my 3rd summer run caught this summer. My first season after them exclusively with fly's.
I am learning that its 90% presentation and 10% fly and if Im getting the fly down toward the bottom, Im getting fish.
