Just when I think I'm getting better at tying...
In the new issue of Fly Tyer magazine, they have a photo in the section on tying contests of an octopus fly. If it didn't have a hook barb and eye protruding from it, I'd think it was the real thing.

I contacted the guy who ties them in France and he won't sell any. He apparently uses some kind of fiber optics so the "fly" actually lights up. He uses them for predator fish in the Mediterranean.
It would be my luck to snap it off on a back cast :sick:

Hey Stew I thing LNF may be on to something. I remember looking and looking for a bear across a river in one of your posts. And that squid does resemble a Chistmas Ornament!!!

big flies as xmas ornaments...great idea. I bet they could get them into clear glass balls...
