Any of you have a good idea on how to clean trailer plugs for a better connection? I cleaned mine with a small dental pick type thing and it helped for awhile but I'm having problems again.I was thinking of some sort of acid.Like what they use for solder flux. But dont know how well it would work.I could cut them off and wire new ones but would rather not. What do you guys use to clean connectors?

When the connections on my wiring get funky,I use a wire brush to clean them. After they're clean I use some electrical contact grease on them to cut down the corrosion. I still end up replacing mine every couple years though. It only takes a few minutes to solder on a new plug.

"Corrosion Block" is a product that does a pretty good job of cleaning up electrical parts.

I also lightly sand connections with a fine sandpaper, and then coat connectors, bulbs, sockets, etc with 'dielectic grease'.

'Corrosion Block' may be found at some marine stores, and some automotive as well. Dielectic grease can be found in most places selling automotive parts.
