Made the windshield for my tupperware boat out of straight grain fir, as it was easiest to obtain, and work with, and recommended for strength and resistance to rot. Now it's time to have an aluminum one made to replace it. Is there a company in the Portland area that does this with safety glass etc? The local aluminum boat manufacturers are so heavily booked that it would take at least a year to get the thing done, and it's one of the projects for this winter. I can remove the existing windshield in one piece and take it to them for a pattern. :help:

I'd take your "pattern" to a good fabricator have them weld it up for ya.. then take it to a glass shop...

Try Motion Marine in West Linn. They do great work and seem to be able to push small jobs out at a fairly decent speed.
Another option would be Pesznecker Brothers Inc.
in Clackamas.

I want to do the same thing to my tupperwear boat with a hard top to low and windshield too small, spent all this summer with blood running down my head from hitting the top, once I hit so hard knocked me to the deck and I was looking at blue sky thinking it was the water Hee Hee, anyway looking for someone in the Pudgetsound area, know of any manufactures that might be quick and good? :smash: :smash: :smash:
