Enjoyed meeting some new ifishers last night and seeing a few old ones (sorry, Stew and Giz, I didn't actually mean old as in 'old'). Drbfish humbly accepted his trout challenge trophy and demonstrated amazing resoluteness in keeping inquiring minds at bay... hmmm, 90 miles from Mickey Finn's? The SRC flies looked great... thanks to all the tyers and to Abalone for swapping them. Planning to hit the coast tomorrow and try to catch a fish on each fly... anybody interested? lnf

Was it good for you? It was good for me.

A big thanks go to Stew and Abalone for setting up the two events. It was good to meet some new folks too! I see several group fishing trips in the near future...

The pleasure was all mine.

I got another set of flies in the mail last night, now I gotta figure out what to do with them.

You guys want to go to M.Finns again next week ?

Just kidding.

I might have to get everyones address.

What a pain...

I wanna do this agian but we are going to have to figure out something so we get the flies all in on time.

I don't want to sound judgemental. Lord only knows how many times I have been late turning in my taxes and
other things.

Any suggestions ?

This fly swap thing is fun except for the confusion over getting the flies in on time.

For those who were late: Consider this.

I have received all the flies but one set.
Everyone has received the flies except those that mailed theirs to me. I have return postages with addresses
so that's no problem.

The problem is: Now I have to send everbody else the one fly I just recieved plus the one I haven't recieved.
So should I wait till the last one comes in before I sent them out to everyone after I get their addresses etc.
Or maybe the last guy will never send me one and then what ?

Please don't take it personal but: Do you see how things can get messed up ?

This should be fun. A cool way to get together and share time and get to know each other.

Getting the flies out by the deadline would go a long way on making this happen.

Please don't sweat it, I 'll get this figured out somehow. Just be more considerate next time OK.

You guys are all great people just the same.

Hey there Abalone, Im one of those guys that likes to get flies in early or nearly so....so..I figure if folks are really late with no apparant alibi, send the flies back to the owner. He or she can try next time! Sounds hard, but we are talking deadlines here and schedules! You either follow the rules or opt out!
makes sense to me.

Deefly.. You were the first one in with your flies. Thank you.

But I would rather cultivate these guys a little. Maybe they were busy fishing and just couldn't get the time to tie. I would give them a second chance no problem. These guys aren't lame. They are flyfisherman and I know one of these dudes. He is a really nice person and I like him.

I think the best punishment would be to have them run the next fly swap. Make em suffer.

I have one more set of flies to receive. If I don't get them soon I will poll you guys for your address and mail out what ever I got. It might get a little complicated but I will get everyone their flies.

I want to do more fly swaps with everyone and am willing to
get some ground rules going.

I am sure ( Positively sure ) that if you knew these guys you would understand. Baitdown for example is a really neat guy and I would fish with him anytime. I rolled in the gutter with him a puffens Crab Boil and it was lots of fun..

My sense about everyone I met at Micky Finns is great. You guys represent the best there is at Flyfishing out there.

Lets keep the fly swap alive.

Jenny... If you are reading this, I will get your flies to you as soon as I can..

Just wanted to add my thanks to Abalone for running the swap, the flies all look great. Had fun and it was good to meet you guys. Wish I could have stuck around and shared some war stories but had to work. Looking forward to another swap and maybe some fishing.

I first want to thank everyone who was there the other night for a good time and especially Stew for putting the contest together. Second, my fish was on a PUBLIC lake (everyone asked me if it was privet, some even asked twice!). And, lastly I want to warn everyone on the board that there may be some bestiality going on in SW WA! I hope to get to fish with some of you in the year to come and look forward to defending my title in next years contest. Thanks all!

PS I hit the clack this morning and hooked three fish and had another bump too, so get out there and swing!

Right on Dave! Did I only ask twice? Hit the Wilson today with my shiny new SRC swap flies... the smolts swooned at the sight of them. Fished for a couple short hours and crackered four nice ones... two swap flies, one molar and one Sage 5wt.. If only those flies and my teeth had a warranty like Sage's. :hoboy:
