Merc Kicker Won't Shift...

My kicker will no longer shift. Everything actually looks great on the outside, just a few scrapes on top of the cowling, the lower unit doesn't appear bent, no damage to the prop or hydrofoil, just wondering if the gears got jarred out of allignment from the impact. All teh outboard shops around home are saying 2-3 wks just to get it in, then work time on top of that :eek:

Any suggestions, I have all service manuals, schematics etc.

Sounds/looks like it got quite a bump.
It could be several things but, try removing the cover and following the linkage. Look to see if the screw that holds the adjustment has left a divot or scratch. The jar could have shifted the linkage adjustment some. Thats the only adjustment I can think of thats accessible without dropping the lower end.

Does it have the integral throttle/shift (no seperate shift lever)?
If not, does the lever still move, or is it jammed up tight?
