My daughter and her friend wanted to go camping this weekend, so we headed up to Oxbow . Friday morning the river was chaulky olive draaaaaaaaaaaab, but by evening she was starting to clear. Did not fish Friday. Saturday I fished banker's hours - great conditions. Overcast, a shot of rain. Swung flies and nymphed for steelhead throughout the day. Did not see a fisherman during the morning and afternoon fish (for good reason I guess :hoboy:). All I had to show for the effort was a couple of bulldog whitefish on beadhead nymphs (9-11").

I gear fished Saturday night and Sunday morning (see main board) then switched back to the fly rod briefly this afternoon before coming home.

I tried purple startlight leech (bald pattern, like a comet) and Stevo's pink and white (got that in the fly swap) for swinging; beadhead, non-beadhead nymphs, and glo-bugs below a rubber legged beadhead stonefly) when nymphing. Worked a lot a water. The steelhead just were not interested :noway:.

What a beautiful river. The river looked perfect today. I felt so lucky to be on the water, have it mostly to myself in such beautiful surroundings. And, only 45 minutes away. Good weekend. I hope everyone had similar experiences.
