With all the talk about zooplankton and krill patterns for steelhead lately, I thought I would pass on this excerpt from an article on Neah Bay in the Fall issue of Northwest Fly Fishing Magazine:

...krill in the teeming billions flicked about just inches below the water's surface, and, to an angler, most stunning of all, the salmon in swarms of perhaps a hundred calmly swirled at the surface to eat the krill.

That's my kind of hatch!

My magazine arrived in the mail yesterday and after reading your post, I opened it to the article you mention.

Off shore fishing for salmon is something I want to learn. Much more pleasure then cutting herring!

However, it didn’t have any new krill patterns! That is okay since I now have your krill pattern.
