The other day I visited a small (3acre) native cutt lake in the coast and found some idiot had driven his truck into the lake (drunk locals) Trany oil was all over the edges of the lake. Is there any difference between trans oil and engine oil when it comes to pollution and effects on trouts?
This was just sickening as the fish were really rising when we arrived. this lake has 2 creeks coming in and just seepage thru an old mill dam going out. What do you think?
Its a Gem of a lake! Too bad a few screw up the world for the rest of us. But Im thinking theres still hope! :hoboy:

I agree with you about some "red-neck" idiots ruining these lakes and the fishing.
Reminds me of the story I recently read on the plight of Mann Lake: someone dumped gold fish into the lake and have ruined it. Mann Lake may need to be poisoned to kill them.
I don't know what can be done to clean up the lake you mentioned. Maybe some other fly fisherman on Ifish...

Call the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. They have a fund established to address issues like this. If they give you any run around PM me. This is what I do for a living and I'm pretty familiar with how to get things done at the agency.
AndyK, the goldfish are a lot more of a problem than people realize. Apparently, one of the shops in Burns was selling them as bait for the area ponds. When they drew down Chickahomany last year to fix the dam they apparently found the channel loaded with them. Some of those goldfish were more like Koi as they weighed a couple of pounds. ODFW had better get on the ball with illegal introductions. Crane Prairie, Diamond Lake, Davis Lake, Wickiup, South Twin, both Lava Lakes, and many of the lakes east of here are being decimated by illegal introductions.
