Abby and I just got back from a weekend at the North Shore Resort. We had a nice waterfront campsite for our tent trailer so we could pull the boat up close. We caught 101 fish over the weekend. Probably 70 were Bass. The largest was alittle over 3 lbs and about 10 were between 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. We primarily fished the west shore line and found most fish next to reeds. We caught very few bass next to or in the lily pads. I only caught a couple under the train tressles. However, we always caught fish at by the boulders at either end of the tressles.

I read Stans report on the "Limp Stick" it was an awesome bait. I caught most fish on it-- weightless. I'd toss it next to the reeds and the bass would grab it and not let go. It really was perfect to skip it way back under overhanging trees. My big bass opportunity schooled me. I threw the Limp Stick and twitched it along a downed tree and a hawg came out and inhaled it and proceeded to wrap my 12lb test around the branches and broke me off. I had a feeling she has done that before! Abby caught most of her fish on jigs and worms under a float. That was my first time at one of the big three coastal lakes and I am impressed at the number and size of the fish.

Dipnet, I may have seen you Saturday PM? There was another folding boat fishing just down the shoreline from me and I saw a Alaskan go fish the first tressle.

Sounds like a great time. How was the weather? Was there much wind through out the day? Any crappie or catfish? Thanks for the info.

The wind picked up in the middle of the day. We mostly fished before 10:00am and after 5:00pm. We didn't fish on the bottom at all-- so no catfish. We did get two Crappie (one dink and one about 9") The largest Bass slammed a triple-blade Chartreuse Buzz Bait. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZBAM! :yay:

Glad you had a good time!! Wasn't the weather fantastic? I couldn't believe how nice the evenings were!! Jerry was wondering if the bass were still hanging around the ends of the trestles!! It's been a few years since we went over there and tried for them. We just got home this evening. I fished off our docks every night and caught so many perch, I lost count!! We did get some nice crappie and bluegill and the biggest perch I've ever caught!! Had them for dinner tonight, yum yum!!!

Jay,
I was just on South Tenmile last weekend. Had a great time. Fished mostly spinner-baits. Caught a couple...one was maybe 1 1/2 lbs. What is this "Limp Stick" bait? Sound like it's worth a shot.

We used to go to Tenmile quite a bit when I was a kid. The whole family. I'd like to make it a tradition again, but I would like to make it a memorable trip, so catching fish is a must. I'm not a pro at bass fishing, but I love it. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.
Jerry

Read Stan Fagerstrom's colums . His last one was a long article on the Limp Stick . It is made in Florence Or. I saw some at Sportsmen's Warehouse on 82nd st in Portland .I think that it is made by the Outlaw Bait Co . but i could be wrong on the manufacture co .If you know how to go to the older colums that he has written you will find it . He has good thing to read and we can all learn something from them .His colums are on the main page of I-Fish .The limp stick that you asked about looks like a plastic worm that is hollow on one end , and looks something like a tube only narrower . Hope that this will help you . :jester:  :yay:  :angel1:
