I am taking my 8 year old daughter camping/fishing this weekend. I have never been to any of these lakes. Which would you go to? Where would you camp? We have a small boat and the lakes are large-- Do you have some recon to put the right baits on our line and the right part of the lake to thwow it at? We would like to catch Bass and Perch. It doesn't really matter as long as I can find her a fish pretty often . Thanks in advance for any help!!!! Also Does anyone know if there are any tounaments to avoid this weekend?

I would head to Tenmile myself,The wind on Siltcoos can be really bad at times. There is camping on the south lake I think.Lots of warmwater fish and some trout,If you can get past the perch

Tenmile by far.....even with a tourney out there, there is lots of room and the perchin can be awesome. Grape slider worms or rapalas(size 7, gold jointed) in the morning or eve's can be awesome. Osprey point in south lake has great camping and showers and a store. Take your small boat through the channel and hit the shore to the right. You may be pleased.

I just got a reservation and the North Shore Park on Tenmile. For the Bass should I fish the pad/weed edges, deeper water, pockets in the pads? What am or pm approach would you take to trying to dial them in??

You might want to consider doing a search on "tenmile" There has been many discussions over the use of various baits on this body of water during the course of the last 36 months.

If you have the proper lights on you boat don't be afraid to fish after dark. Buzzbaits, Spinnerbaits, Jitterbugs, jigs, ect. The fishing is always better this time of year after hours. In your small boat you could fish close by the North lake resort and probably do pretty good. :smash: :yay:

We always had good luck fishing for bass by the railroad trestle. The right hand side where the tracks come onto land was always a good spot as the sun went down. Good luck. We'll be down to our place on the island on South lake this weekend too. If you make it out that way, say hey!! We're on the low end of the island and have a Smokercraft Alaskan parked at our dock.

From Yamhill, which is about 30 miles SW of Portland it's 176 miles going hwy.18 down to 101 and down the coast. It takes us about 3.5 hours without the boat, and add another half hour if you're pulling a boat.

I figure from West Linn I'll straight down I-5 past Cottage Grove and go right through Elkton on highway 38 to Reedport and then south ten miles on 101 to the Lake. I just read Stan Fagerstroms two articles on the "Limp Stick" so I found them in the recommended colors at Fishermans Warehouse. I'm starting to get fired up!!!
