Ummmmmm..... I don't want to be the one to give away all the secrets. The weather was great though!

Sturgeonator must be from some place where it really rains. Either that or he was in a different weather zone than we were. But we could stay on the water till about 3:00 which was ok.
IMHO we needed to be in different water conditions than those we fished. The current was quite strong and the fish we were targeting were deep, 25' or more. I could not keep my offering on the bottom. Neither could GBS. I was using 4 oz. on a slider above my leader knot. This was on a 9 weight T400 line. Next go round I'm going to spool up some running line I have with a shooting head and try much shallower water at the slack.
Other than that, traditional bait fishing resulted in a keeper in Sturgeonators boat and one in Petes boat. GBS, Rick and I boated several 44"s released some others and crackered two. And a good time was had by all.

bllelk,
Was it raining where you were? I thought you guys had the top up to keep from getting sunburned. That's why we had ours up.
TC and I were talking on the way back. Consensus is that it would be possible in an exchange that wasn't so high.
The current where we were was way too fast to keep anything on the bottom. With better conditions and a little nerve, it might even be possible to float down through the sandbars and work the troughs. It would take some teamwork though. It was good to meet you. Maybe we'll try again sometime armed with a little better knowledge.

We were doing good till my sunscreen washed off and we had to take Ricks raincoat away from him to hold the beer cans.
Current + depth wasn't working.
I've been thinking (DUCK!). Dragging my DB out there might work and enable us to get to them. Also aerial photos would be a big help.

with such a big tide exchange I was a little nervous about getting into some shallow water and getting stuck. With a prop it's something to consider sometimes.
Yes, less current, shallow water, shooting line and more eager fish and I'd say a guy could still do well.
once again, a pleasure fishing with you gentleman, and thanks for sharing expenses. That was class.
