Just another 22"er...(w/ picture)

Fished my favorite little trout river yesterday in the howling WIND with Pez. It was an epic battle against the elements. I almost lost my lucky Ross Reels hat a couple of times. I managed 12 Browns between 16" and 22". Right about last fishing light I pulled my fly out of the kyped jaw of a certified MONSTER, 3 times! ARRRGGGGHHHH!

5 species of bugs hatching, and I couldn't figure out which one the fish wanted. I'd catch a fish on one fly, and then cast it over several other risers with no action. Then I'd swap to a different fly, get a refusal or two, then switch again. A little frustrating, because even though I caught fish, I never really dialed them in.

Here is a picture of my best (measured) fish of the day. I had one jump out of the net earlier that might have been bigger. This one was a shade over 22" (like 22.05") :grin:.

Oh, the picture was taken when the wind was shifting, and it settled down for about 5 minutes. Before, there were whitecaps on the river.

I do think I'll add a second and third place to the challenge though....good idea!
