I need to get a new floating line for my 5 weight. This crappy Lazerline has really developed lots of little cracks.

I haven't had to buy any lines for the last several years, so I'm looking for some input. If you were going to buy a new floater, what would it be and why?

I think I need to go with a WF due to reel capacity.

Thanks,
Mike

If you fish in hot weather all the time, the Cortland 555 is a good line. I can cast it a mile. Problem is it is really stiff, so all fall, winter, and spring it is a pain to fish. I personally have several Lazerlines and have never developed a crack. Take it back! Cortland is very good about replacing defective lines. I had one once, and it was replaced on the spot by the retailer.

Look at RIO lines if you are dead set against Cortland. I have 2 and they are nothing short of great!

Mike I bought one of those Lee Wulff Triange Taper lines in a 5 recently. They are pretty much a WF line, but the taper is reversed, so it gets fatter as you move back from the tip but then all of a sudden you hit the running line.

I'm pretty much a DT guy, but I do like this line a lot and I can cast almost the whole line (when stading on a rock!).
