Trout below Sherars

Hey Deschutes gurus, how is the trout fishing BELOW Sherars Falls? I'm going out that way to camp with some friends around Jones Canyon, and wondering if I should fish around there or drive back up around Maupin.

You will do just fine - except bewlo white river water color will likely be way off with this rain and snow on the mountain

Jones is a fine place to trout fish.
good nymping water. and some nice backeddies.
no need to go back up to maupin.

I second that, the Jones area is fine for trout. I actually prefer to fish in that area instead of closer to town as it has less people (except during steelhead season). The only bad thing is by now the stoneflies has pretty much vacated thar far down on the river.
