Ok, So I woke up bright and early this morning, and did a little day trip over to Maupin.

there were a fair share of goldens and salmon flys hanging around but nothing that sparked the interest of the fish, people were telling me that the hatch moved south... I nodded my head and smiled, I mean who am I to argue.

I ran into a guy who told me he was slaying them the other day using a Northern Woods (I believe that was the name). He had a lot of fish stories, and shared quite a few with me.

Anyway the weather was the type of day I always enjoy, overcast and drizzly at times.

I walked up a little ways past locked gate, and sat down for a while and just observed the river and noticed a few fish surfacing. So I tied on a PMD and got lucky, landed two fish and hooked into about 5 others. They were nothing to write home about, but getting skunked on my last time out at the Met, it felt good to know that fish exist.

Not the best report, but its all I got.

Royal, thanks for the update. Typical weather occurance, seems to happen every year - the hatch gets rolling and then cool/wet weather shuts it down.

I believe the pattern that guy was saying was the - Norm Wood Special. A killer pattern when it's tied with the correctly dyed shade of calf tail. Talk to Smeraglio about those details...he used to do the dying, maybe he still does?
