Hey everyone... I just wanted to take a moment and praise God for bringing a friend home safely from Iraq..
Not only is this great that he is home safely, but he gets to be with his new family.
2 months prior to getting the call that they would be deployed, God blessed them with getting pregnant after trying for several years.
Shawn was overseas in Iraq while his wife was at the hospital giving birth to there daughter.
He was blessed during this time as he managed a call during labor and was able to "talk" his wife through a contraction.
Shawn was able to come home for leave to meet his then 6 month old daughter for the first time, although he had to return to duty over seas after a mere 15 days.
Yesterday was a different story however, his unit returned home for good. The joy and emotions that must be going on there cannot be imagined by myself.
For the last 6 months since my daughter was born, watching her grow and learn, while amazing, has constantly brought me many mixed emotions knowing that while I am getting to see this, he has missed this. I am so grateful to God that he has been delivered safely home to his family so he does not have to miss any more.
The faith that this family has shown in Gods work, has been amazing and has brought them through this terrible time in there lives, and I just praise God that he is home now with his family.
Please pray for a easy transition to a normal family life for this wonderful family, and also for a good transition for Shawn back to a normal life.
Also please pray for the remainder of the family's that were not as fortunate as our friends.
Thank you all, and Thank God..
God Bless our soldiers and there familys for making sacrifices and to bring them home safely
