An update on my Mother in Law. What a tough lady. She had her surgery last wednesday. Things went as good as they could. The surgery lasted an hour longer then the dr. thought it would, and we were starting to get pretty shook, when he came out and told us that the tumor was well defined, and looked like the roots had not penatrated the rib bones, but he took 2 anyway. He also took all of the lymph nodes from her chest area for byopsy. By saturday morning we were thinking this was a piece of cake for her. But in the 1hr 15min. between my wifes cousins visit and ours. She had gone down hill so fast that she could only get 2 words at a time out before gasping for breath. It was a total shock as we talked to the cousins, just a few minutes before entering her room. The nurses and dr.s were on it. They found that her lung had not yet inflated since the surgery and she was filling up with fluid. They were on the verge of taking her back to ICU, but God didn't want her there and the meds started to work. They tried a couple of different respitory therapies and were able to inflate the lung. She is well on the way to recovery. She even came home today. She is very sore and every little pain or twinge she has, scares her. She has a hard time breathing but has good oxygen saturation %. The byopsy on the bones and lymph nodes show no spread and both results were negative. Praise the Lord. With her age, weight, and size, (96#) It just amazes me she not only is still with us, but is with us at home. She had so many people praying for her! Prayer chains at 3 churches that I know of, and friend, family, and fellow ifishers. Your prayers were awesome, and they were answered. May God bless each and every one of you and your families. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts. Mike and Lori.
PS 3 weeks of no smoking for us now. Getting easier but still have some cravings. We know for sure that Gods power will keep us from those awful things forever. Cause we have faith, and have asked for it in agreement. AMEN
