I took delivery of my new Alumaweld Super V last Monday, but with this terrible weather we’ve had, the poor thing has been sitting around collecting snow and ice all week.
Well today after shoveling the snow out of her we took her on the maiden voyage.
Tony, my dad and I were greeted by the sweet smell of cottonwood smoke from a plunkers fire as we launched at the crack of 11. Our mission was to test out the new boat and get a feel for how the bigger boat would handle.
The boat ran beautifully and since we were out there we thought we’d do a little fishing. Twenty minutes in the water and my dad caught two hens back to back. You can’t ask for anything better than breaking in a new boat like that  !
I'm just bummed I left my camera's to record the event  :depressed:
It’s a good thing we have had a slow melt down as our rivers didn’t flood this time but with all that snow pouring in, that river was COLD! Temps were hanging in the 35 to 37 degree range. Brrrrrrr! All the tribs were muddy, but while the color of the river was a murky green, it was still plenty fishable.
