With the ice and snow and cold I've only gone out once so far for the new year.
Boy did it start out with a tease!
With the snow packed roads we headed out late and took our time getting down to the coast. By the time we started fishing it was 9 a.m.
On the first two casts of the day we hooked an instantaneous double :dance:
I thought, "it's going to be a double digit day."
We landed one of the two, a chromer that still had sea lice.
Although we had a great (but cold) day on the water we ended up hooking five and landing three. Any day you can get three winter steelhead is a good day but it wasn't the double digits that I was teased into expecting.
With all the snow we have in the hills and the predicted warm rain on the way fishing will probably be on hold for several more days this week.
