Last Mnday was the start of my Astoria season and it went off with a bang!
First fish of the morning on the first day was this dandy 34# chinook.

After landing this hog we went on to land 35+ more silvers in less than three hours.
Many of the people that fished with me this week had never caught a salmon so they had a blast. Not only catching their first but they caught fish after fish.

This trip was Gordy Henjim's 80th BDay present but it turned out to be a great present for my BDay too!
The Henjims shot me an email to say, "David--Thanks so much for a great trip yesterday. My family was very pleased with your professionalism and skill. It was quite a thrill to watch dad land that 25 lb. fish -- at 80 years
old."

A short day on the water for these boys fishing @ B10. The chinook were "upriver brights" that went 28 and 31 pounds
The first two days we were in the ocean and landed over 60 fish for less than five hours of actual fishing time. Once you find 'em out there it's non stop action.
We also caught a five foot shark that put up a great fight, saw the second puffin I've ever seen in Oregon waters and we had a ocean sunfish give us a visit.
We caught well over 100 salmon this week. Most were silvers but in the next two weeks there is going to be more and more chinook. How can you go wrong with more salmon coming through this river mouth than anywere else in the lower 48 states
The only days I have left for here are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of September so if you want in on the action give me a call. 503-201-4292
