Yesterday was my birthday. But what really made the day was the group of clients I had. It was the Henjum Family-Scott, Mark, Diane and thier dad Gordy. Gordy turned 80 last April and this was his birthday present.
Turns out it was one for me too. The weather was awesome and the fish willing. Of course Diane had the hot rod like just about all women, and it was just priceless to here her, "oooh, ooh, oooh" as she literaly reseld those fish in.
We caught over 25 silvers out in the ocean but could only come up with five hatchery "keepers" so just before high tide we ran in and tried our luck in the river.
The wind had picked up but I just kept our nose into it and plowed along. We lost a few chinook, caught about a 12 inch steelhead that we tossed back and then got two nice chinook.
The biggest caught by Gordy, a twenty plus pound buck! It was a proud moment as we all admired his trophy-and Gordy showed us "kids" he still has what it takes.
I am going to remember this birthday for a long time :cheers:
