I fished the last two days off the mouth of the Columbia and it's been a hoot. We've had to chase 'em off shore quite a ways so it's burned some gas but it's been worth it.
For the last two days we've caught something like 60 silvers and taken boat limits. I would say we haven't spent more than a total of five or six hours of actual fishing time.
I've been running cut plugs or coyote spoons at 12 to 15 pulls. Both seem to work equally well. The spoon colors that have been working are hot pink, "Wonder Bread" and green/chrome.
We have only gotten one chinook out there, it was the first fish of the day yesterday and tipped the scale at 34#. That hog flat out spooled Lynn, even with thumb presure we had to fire up the two hundred and give chase to keep from loosing him.
There are a few more fish pushing into the river every day now and any day it's going to break loose. Then I'll be staying inside and not running so far.
